Further Information:

Family information: Sister to Elizabeth Garrett (Anderson), who also signed the 1866 petition. Married James Smith in 1857.

Additional Information: In 1865, Louisa was a member of the influential Kensington Society, which discussed all matters related to women's rights. After signing the 1866 petition, she became honorary secretary of the Enfranchisement of Women Committee (EWC). It's likely that she would have continued to contribute to the campaign for women's suffrage, but she sadly died of appendicitis in 1867.
