Further Information:

Family information: Father Prof. of Ecclesiastical History at St Andrews University.

Additional Information: Harriet was a member of the Kensington Society and probably helped to organise signatories for the 1866 petition. She later occupied a brief six-month paid position as assistant secretary for the Enfranchisement of Women Committee (EWC). Good friends with Elizabeth Garrett (Anderson), she seems to have left the EWC at the same time, in summer 1867. Unfortunately, Harriet died of tuberculosis in 1869, cutting short her contribution to the women's suffrage campaign.
