Other Suffrage Activities: Jane studied astronomy, drawing, mathematics and political economy. She later took book-keeping classes to maintain the family finances. This led her to work, via her friend and founder Elisabeth Jesser Reid, at Bedford College, where she was appointed as honorary secretary in 1855. She also became a trustee of the college.
