Family information: Father was a piano maker. Married Benjamin Waddy Maughan in 1863. Benjamin invented the first domestic water heater, 'the Geyser', and for some time prospered. He fell on harder times after Fanny's death in 1887, ending his time in a workhouse in Islington, London.
